| The wiiw
Balkan Observatory is a portal to statistics, research and
communication
in relation to economic developments in South-Eastern Europe. The
Observatory
results from co-operation between The Vienna Institute for
International
Economic Studies (wiiw) and two institutes at the London School of
Economics
(LSE), i.e. The Hellenic Observatory at the European Institute and The
Centre for the Study of Global Governance, and serves now also as forum
for the Global Development Network Southeast Europe - GDN-SEE.

The research areas were: inequality, migration, and fiscal systems. This project is a result of the cooperation between the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (wiiw) and the Global Development Network (GDN) – with the support of the Austrian National Bank (OENB) and the Austrian Ministry of Finance (BMF).
